Over on Voice of a Patriot I write a ‘Random Thoughts’ post every once in a while. Today I have decided to introduce this same category here. As you may have noticed, I have not done a lot of posting lately. It isn’t because I don’t have material; I have just been having a lot of trouble with motivation. My readership has declined, and it is my own fault. Thank you for sticking around. It is appreciated more than you know.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:11-13 NIV)
This verse has been in my heart a lot lately! There is no doubt in my mind that God has purposed me to write for Him. He has also purposed me to write to encourage my fellow Americans in this highly charged political season. So, along with Voice of a Patriot, I am working on an E-book about the Declaration of Independence. Obviously I have been struggling, but I am starting to see some light at the end of the chaotic tunnel. The phrase, “If God brings you to it; He will bring you through it” has also been on my mind. There is no doubt that His purpose will be done.
Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 5: 19-20)
Coming up on Wednesday I will introduce a 26-week project, in which I will encourage and challenge you to take part. I am excited about this project; it will be a fun way for us to work on something together.
Finally, I am determined to follow what God has set before me. Your prayers, support and encouragement mean more to me than you could ever know. We have what promises to be a long, hot and tumultuous summer ahead of us. We must find respite in God and trust in Him to guide us through the coming political firestorm. Perhaps the Determined Christian will be a place to find His peace and joy. I am open to any suggestions for topics to write about, so if you have any ideas, please share them with me. Also, I am open to welcoming Guest Posts, so if you have something you want to say, let me know. God bless you with joy and laughter. See you on Wednesday.
