Thank you for your patience with me Dear Reader. Things in my life have been quite busy for the last couple of months, but I think things are finally starting to calm down. As we get closer to the election, I am sure things will heat up again.
The election is on most everybody’s mind at this point and a lot of us are feeling a little political fatigue. However, it is imperative that we remain involved in the process; not just until Election Day, but afterwards as well. God blessed our Founding Fathers with the insight and ability to separate from the British Crown and build for us the foundation for our freedom, which is the Constitution of the United States of America. It is up to us, as citizens, to uphold and defend our Constitution.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He chose for His inheritance. (Psalm 33:12 NIV)
It is unfortunate that in recent decades we in America have turned our backs on the Lord our God. It is apparent in the moral decay of our culture. Deviance, perversion and hatred toward Christian values have infected our nation like a malignant cancer. The values that we hold dear are being attacked and if we don’t stand up and do something these same values will be destroyed. Sadly, a big part of the problem comes from within the Christian community. Instead of standing up against the ills of society, a lot of folks have decided to go the route of being politically correct. Standing up for Jesus Christ and sound Scriptural values might offend someone. The question is simple: Do you stand up for what you really believe in? Or do you follow the masses down the wide path that leads to the wide gate to destruction?
For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. (Hebrews 4:12-13)
I encourage you to search Scripture daily and seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit. This is how we will be afforded strength, courage and wisdom in this ugly political season. My prayer for our nation is a revival of the Christian Spirit that built it.
In coming posts I will encourage you to stand strong for your Christian beliefs and speak up, not just for your country, but also for Jesus Christ. We face troubling times, but with the power of God to rely on, we will prevail.
I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. (John 16:33)
